This police station belonging to Anna Nagar is now fifth place in India

Police personnel and people of Chennai can feel proud now. The news is the K4 police station of Anna Nagar, Chennai has got 5th place in the ministry of Home affairs list of smart police stations in India.
It must not be forgotten that just two months back a committee assessed this K4 police station in Anna Nagar, Chennai and the main areas that were considered for this assessment are rate of property recovery, infrastructural facilities plus the rate of disposal of cases.
It is superb to mention that this Anna Nagar police station was renovated two months ago and amount as much as Rs 7 lakh was spent on this renovation. In this police station there are room for the visitors, a room for investigation, a waiting hall, receptionist cabin and drinking water facilities etc. Response of as many as 100 people was considered by the checking committee which inspected this K4 police station. It is also revealed that the owners of the commercial establishments were also asked for their views.
It is important to mention that the city police commissioner Mr A.K. Viswanathan made it compulsory for the inspectors to be present at the station and specific time was allotted so that public could meet the police and discuss their issues in this police station.
Mr. Saravanan who is an inspector of Anna Nagar police station expressed his views and he said allotment of time at the police station was good idea because the public wont be wasting their time by waiting. He also threw light on how the response time was fast whenever the police control room received emergency calls.
One important piece of information is WhatsApp groups have been created with the residents so that public could interact with the police easily. Mr. Saravanan finally spoke about how they think of bringing the area under the CCTV surveillance and for this how the interaction with the residents is very crucial.
