All food shops - pushcarts to hotels - must get Food Safety quality licence

The Chennai district collector V. Anbuselvan has informed that all food shops in Chennai – ranging from pushcarts to star hotels – must obtain the Food Safety Quality Certificate.
For those who have not obtained this food safety quality licence, a penalty of up to Rs. 5 Lakhs will be imposed. The Chennai District collector has emphasised the need for all kinds of food shops to obtain the above licence
