Chennai Water Supply Lakes levels - 50% storage available at present

Out of the total capacity of 12714 mcft (12.7 tmc), the present storage of all 5 lakes comes to 6229 mcft (6.2 tmc). Last year it was just 1602 mcft (1.6 tmc). We have over 5 times the storage compared to last year.
If we take a look at the combined storage of 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016. This year was much much better storage.
Remember we have two Desalination Plants to support us too and later we have our contribution from Krishna water too. From the past experiences, we can say that we can somehow manage the coming year. Nothing postive for significant rains in coming days.
