The cyclonic storm Ockhi over eastcentral Arabian Sea moved further north-northeastwards with a speed of 21 kmph during past 6 hours and lay centred at 1130 hrs IST of 05th December, 2017 over eastcentral Arabian Sea near Latitude 18.5º N and Longitude 71.0º E, about 350 km south-southwest of Surat and 200 km west-southwest of Mumbai. It is very likely to continue to move north-northeastwards, weaken gradually and cross south Gujarat and adjoining north Maharashtra coasts near Surat as a deep depression by tonight, the 5th December 2017.

Gujarat: Light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy rainfall at isolated places is very likely over Saurashtra and south Gujarat region till the morning of 6th December, 2017 (Valsad, Surat, Navsari, Bharuch, Dang, Tapi, Amreli, Gir- Somnath, Bhavnagar, Diu, Daman, Dadra, and Nagar Haveli districts) and light to moderate rainfall over Gujarat region at many places during subsequent 12 hours.
Maharashtra: Light to moderate rainfall at most places with isolated heavy rainfall is also likely over north Konkan till the morning of 6th December, 2017 (Palghar, Thane, Raigarh, Greater Mumbai, Dhule, Nandurbar, Nashik, Jalgaon, Ahmednagar and Pune districts).
Wind:
Squally wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph very likely along & off north Maharashtra and South Gujarat coasts during next 24 hours.
