Aadhar verified IRCTC passengers can book up to 12 tickets

According to officials from the Indian Railways, the monthly ticket booking limit through IRCTC portal is increased from 6 to 12 for all Aadhar-verified passengers.

On 26th October, this initiative was brought to effect with the belief that it would entice more passengers in getting their Aadhar number linked with IRCTC online booking accounts.

For passengers who have not linked Aadhar card with IRCTC officials, ticket bookings of up to 6 numbers will be allowed in a month.

In case of more than 6 bookings, it is mandatory for the passenger to update Aadhar number of the user and any one of the passengers, said an official.

For updating the Aadhar details, users need to click on to IRCTC portal and click on Aadhar KYC found under my profile tab. Upon this, you will be sent a One Time Password (OTP) to the mobile number that is linked with the Aadhar. This needs to be entered for verification.

Furthermore, the master list must also be updated with Aadhar number of any of the accompanying passenger. This is an OTP validation.

On the Master list, the complete list of all names of verified passengers can be stored. This has to be completed ahead of beginning the booking process of booking more than 6 tickets in a month.
