IT Department launches exclusive online chat feature

To all the tax payers, the Income Tax Department has come up with an exclusive online chat service. With this, tax payers can obtain answers to all their doubts and queries pertaining to direct tax issues.
In the homepage of IT department - www.incometaxindia.gov.in – there is a new window seen where there is a prominent icon called Live Chat Online – Ask Your Query.
Speaking about this, an IT department official said all the general queries and doubts of a taxpayer will be addressed and answered by an expert team from the department and independent tax practitioners. This is a new initiative that intends comforting taxpayer services in the country.
Furthermore features are likely to be included to the online chat system after receiving feedbacks from the department. To avail the chat service, an individual can enter the chat room by feeding their email id.
