Rains to continue in pleasant Chennai

Chennai, the Gateway to South India had been observing light to moderate spells since the past few days. However, in the last 24 hours, rains have reduced over the region.
During the same time frame, northern parts of Tamil Nadu witnessed scattered light rain with isolated moderate showers, while southern parts of the state observed light rain at few places.
The reason behind these showers can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which is seen over North Interior Karnataka. In addition to this, a north-south trough is seen extending North Telangana up to South Tamil Nadu.
In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Saturday, Meenambakkam Observatory in Chennai observed 6 mm of rains, while Nungambakkam Observatory remained rain free.
Under the influence of above mentioned weather systems, North Tamil Nadu including Chennai will witness light rain with isolated moderate spells for the next few days, while southern districts will remain dry.
In wake of these rains, the day will be comfortable with persistence of cloud cover. Morning and nights will remain pleasant with minimum temperatures settling around 25-27 degrees.
