Aadhar now a must for post office deposits

The central government has announced that Aadhar card is mandatory to start a savings account in Post Offices.
The central ministry of Revenue has informed that Aadhar card will be mandatory for starting an account in Post Offices, National Savings Certificate Scheme, Kisan Vikas Patra, and Public Provident Fund. It has also informed those without Aadhar card must produce the proof of having submitted the application to obtain the same.
It may be recalled that the deadline for linking Aadhar card with several other central government schemes has been extended up to December 31st.
