Appointment orders to be issued for 2315 postgraduate teachers today (21st Sept.)

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E. Palanisamy will issue the appointment order for 2315 postgraduate teachers selected after passing the qualifying TET (Teachers’ Eligibility Test) in a special function to be conducted today (Thursday, 22nd September).

The written test (TET) for filling up the 3375 vacancies for postgraduate teachers and Physical Education teachers (Grade-1) in the government higher secondary schools was conducted on 1st July.

The document verification of the candidates who passed this test was conducted on28th and 29th August. Though 3375 vacancies were announced, only 2315 candidates had passed the written test. Presently, there is a balance of 1060 vacancies for postgraduate teachers.

Out of this 278 vacancies are for Chemistry and 157 vacancies are for Tamil. A number of vacancies exist in other subjects like History as well.

The online counselling for the selected postgraduate teachers to choose their preferred government higher secondary school was conducted in the respective offices of the district primary education.

Subsequently, in a special function organised in the University Centenary Hall on Thursday, 21st September (today), the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E. Palanisamy will be handing over the appointment orders to the selected postgraduate teachers. Grand arrangements have been made for this special function.

In this scenario, the question has arisen whether the next TET (Teachers’ Eligibility Test) will be conducted shortly to fill up the remaining 1060 vacancies for the postgraduate teachers.

The Chairman of the Teachers Recruitment Board explained that presently, TRB has selected the passed candidates and passed on to the government, If the government asks, TRB is always ready to conduct the next TET.
