The reservation for train tickets for the travel on the occasion of Pongal in January 2018 started today (Friday, 15th September).
The most important festival in the state of Tamil Nadu, Pongal falls on 14th January 2018. So, all the people working in Chennai Metro city traditionally visit their native places for this important festival to be with their family. Keeping the overwhelming rush for the booking, the reservation facility has been started from today (15th September).
Hordes of very eager passengers arrived early in both the Central and Egmore railway stations for booking right from the very early morning. As could be naturally expected, the officials informed that the bookings got full only within a few minutes after the start.
