ICICI to offer digital credit cards with 4 lakh limit

ICICI bank has come up with one-of-a-kind initiative to provide instant credit cards digitally for all savings account customers. This move has come amidst all the initiatives taken to push retail growth, particularly in the segment of loan.
With this new offering lakhs of pre-qualified customers will thus be able to get credit card number instantly and the other major details online with which they can start with online shopping instantly. They need not wait for the physical card to begin with shopping, said ICICI in its statement.
This credit card comes with a limit of Rs 4 lakh according to the pre-verified bureau scores.
Customers will also be able to choose their preferred credit card or create a new one by opting for extra security authentications to it. Further, they will receive the physical credit card within a very few working days.
During the quarter between April and June, there has been 49 percent increase in ICICI bank credit card transaction year-on-year, and the terms of value and number had got increased by 52 percent.
Accounting to about 5 percent of the total loan profile, ICICI bank saw 39 percent growth in credit cards and personal loan category.
