More than half of KV seats left vacant

Nearly half of the total posts sanctioned for Kendria Vidyalayas in Tamil Nadu are left vacant, say data reports from the ministry of human resources development in Parliament on Monday.
Contrarily, just 25 percent of posts in the country are left behind.
There are over 55,000 students are present in Tamil Nadu across 44 KVs and overall 1,858 teachers of which 898 posts are left vacant which is 48.33 percent. In Andhra Pradesh, it is 43 percent, in Karnataka, it is 39 percent, in Telangana, it is 34.5 percent and in Kerala, it is 29.8 percent.
Most of these vacancies are found in primary and secondary levels as per Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan website.
According to parents and educationalists, the teacher vacancies is the reason for dip in standards of KVs. One of the parents of a student from Chennai KV says the school is familiar for all its holistic developments of children. However, due to teaching vacancies, their standard is getting diluted.
Upon observing over 40 KV students failing in class 9 exam, a parent had moved on to the Madras high court. There were in fact protests at the KV on Central Tamil University campus, Thiruvarur.
