Pay more for petrol and diesel

Posted on: 01/Aug/2017 4:14:37 PM
With the oil marketing companies’ move to uptick their dealer commission paid to petrol pump owners, it is likely that people will have to pay a little more for petrol and diesel starting from today.

As per latest reports, the All India Petroleum Dealers Association demands a hike of Re 1 per litre on petrol and Rs 0.72 per litre of diesel towards the dealer commission. The present rate is Rs 2.55 per litre on petrol and Rs 1.65 per litre on diesel. In his note about this, Ajay Bansal, the president of All India Petroleum Dealers Association said this revised commission rate will come into effect starting from 1st August.

Every month the national average sale in each and every outlet is 170 kilolitres of fuel. With this as consideration, only 14 paise per litre is to be converted to Rs 25,000 profit in a month.

At the same time, there have been continuous protest against everyday revision in retail rates of fuel. As per the dealers’ association, the present system reduces the margin rate because of inventory losses when the price of crude oil comes down. Earlier system had the petrol and diesel price changed fortnightly depending on global oil rate, to note.
