Rotary Chennai Olympiad

Rotary International District 3230 has been conducting Rotary Olympiad, an Inter School Athletic Meet for more than a decade in association with Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu.
This year’s edition titled Rotary Chennai Olympiad will be held on Monday the on 7th August 2017 at Nehru Park, Kilpauk (Opp.to Sangam Theatre), Chennai.
More than 1500 Students from Schools in Chennai District are expected to participate in this Mega Athletic Event.
This event assumes significance as the latent athletic talents of students from various schools will be displayed.
RI District 3232 takes pride in promoting the spirit of sports among the School children.
Students from economically weaker section with extraordinary athletic skills will be identified at this meet and assistance will be given to pursue their chosen field by Rotary Clubs and RI District 3232.
The ceremonial and colourful inaugural function with March-past by participants, Lighting of Olympic Torch, Flag hoisting etc will commence at 9 a.m.
The day long competitions will start at 9.30 a.m. Prizes will be distributed to winners at the Valedictory function at 04.30 p.m.
Gold / Silver / Bronze Medals, T Shirts and Certificates of Merit will be distributed to winners of First, Second and Third place.
All participating students will be issued Certificate of Participation. Lunch will be provided to all the 1500 and odd students.
Rtn. R.Srinivasan District Governor RI Dist 3232 will preside over the Inaugural Function.

Thanks to the munificent contributions from Rotary Clubs and large hearted Rotarians the huge financial outlay for this major event is being met.
The excellent support from officials of SDAT and encouraging response from Schools and Students and their parent motivate RI District 3232 to conduct Rotary Olympiad year on year.
