Minister for school education - smart classes to be set up in 3000 government schools

The state minister for school education, K.A. Sengottaiyan, announced that computers will be given to the students studying in 9th Standard to +2.
He further informed that there is a proposal to set up smart classes in 3000 government schools at a cost of Rs. 2 Lakhs per school.
The prevailing syllabus for the classes from 1st Standard to +2 in the state of Tamil Nadu is proposed to be changed gradually from the next academic year.
In this situation, a seminar was organised by the state department of school education in Chennai Kalaivanar Arangam regarding the proposed new syllabus from 1st Standard to +2 classes.
The seminar was inaugurated by the state minister for school education. While addressing the gathering, the minister informed that the state government has been making all-out efforts to make Tamil Nadu the leading state in the field of education. As a part of this ambitious goal, changes in different aspects are being proposed and implemented.
In order to facilitate the students who participate in the central government entrance examination with confidence and good preparation, a book is being prepared to contain 54000 questions and answers pertaining to the central government entrance examinations and will soon be published and released.
There are 40000 self-financed private sector schools in Tamil Nadu. The state government has initiated actions to match/excel the teaching/learning quality of the government schools with these private schools.
Activities will be initiated to execute the projects like setting up smart classes in 3000 government schools at the cost of Rs. 2 Lakh pre school, giving computers to all government school students in 9th Standard to +2 classes, and setting up Wi-Fi facility in the school complex.
The syllabus in the state would be modified so as to match the syllabus of the central government while imparting the students with the features of the ancient Tamil tradition, culture, and age-old practices.
