NEET-SS results released throughout the country - 6700 candidates qualify for the high-level medical courses

6709 candidates have been successful in the NEET-SS (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test – Super Speciality) to qualify for pursuing the higher level special medical courses.

There are 1215 seats available for admission to the higher level speciality courses in medicine (DM and MCh) throughout the country.

There are 192 seats in Tamil Nadu state.

Further, there are seats available for these high-level medical courses in private medical colleges and Deemed Universities.
The central government has announced that DGHS (Directorate General for Health Services) will conduct the counselling sessions for the higher-level special medical courses from this year.

NEET-SS for the academic year 2017-18 was conducted on 10th and 11th June throughout the country. The NEET-SS, conducted by the National Board of Employment, was written by 50000 candidates.

In Tamil Nadu, around 3000 candidates, including 1200 doctors employed in the government hospitals, wrote NEET-SS.
In this scenario, the results of the NEET-SS results have been released in the website www.nbe.edu.in day-before-yesterday (Saturday, 15th July).

5709 candidates have been successful in NEET-SS and are qualified to join the higher-level speciality medical courses. The counselling for the same is scheduled to start shortly.

NEET-SS has 200 marks. In order to join the higher-level speciality medical courses, the cutoff mark has been fixed as 50% of the marks scored by the 1st rank candidate.

Students have cut off marks ranging from 78.25 to 137.50. 2294 candidates have qualified to join the general medical course and 2354 candidates have qualified for the General Surgery Course.
