Chennai - Bengaluru fast train at 300 kmph

The German Government has been exploring the possibilities of operating fast trains at 300 kmph between Chennai - Bengaluru - Mysuru. After the study and analysis, the German government will offer a draft plan.
A senior Railway official explained in this regard that Germany is one of the leading countries in the research and development in technical expertise. The German government has come forward to offer the technical feasibility study and set up operation of high-speed trains in the section Chennai - Bengaluru - Mysuru.
The 1st Phase of the study for feasibility was completed by the German government in 2016. Now, it is set to start the next phase. This may take up to 1 year. The expenses for this technical feasibility study will be borne by the German government.
Special seminars are to be organized on the field study in the cities of Chennai and Bengaluru this month. The Railway Regional Authorities will discuss the regional requirements during this period.
