There were intense spells in north Chennai, as storms enter Chennai. In a while, these clouds will pass away.
Today, early morning, there was huge storm. And one edge of it were towards Chennai. Good spells of rain showers were observed in Anan Nagar.
Today and in the early morning, similar widespread storms are likely. If there is a failure by the sea breeze in sparking the storm, there may be late blooming storms at night just like the morning hours. Throughout Chennai, probably, there will be storms at tonight and tomorrow.
By the last week of this month, monsoon in Western Ghats are likely to get into full swing. There will be good rain showers at the Cauvery catchment of Karnataka.
