Depression zone formed over the south-east Bay of Bengal

A depression zone has formed over the Southeast Bay of Bengal. This is likely to intensify in the next 48 hours. However, the Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are no prospects of rain in Tamil Nadu due to the recent depression one formation.

An official from the Chennai Meteorological Centre explained that heavy rains have started in the Andaman sector. A depression zone has formed in that region. This may intensify over the next 48 hours. However, it is not likely for this depression to move towards Tamil Nadu.

There are prospects of rain with thunder in a few places in the next 24 hours in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. There is no info about the maximum temperature.

The peak of summer, known as Agni Nakshatram or Kathiri Veyil, ends tomorrow (Sunday, 28th May).
