Counselling for admission to postgraduate dental courses postponed

As the prospective students protested that the number of seats shown by the authorities in private dental colleges seemed to be rather low, the counselling for admission to postgraduate dental courses has been postponed.
Earlier, the schedule had been announced that this counselling was to be conducted from 2.00 PM to 6.00 PM on 23rd May at the Tamil Nadu Government Multi Super Speciality Hospital at Anna Salai in Chennai. Over 600 candidates had been invited to participate.
As soon as the counselling started, the students and the parents indulged in strongly protesting that the number seats declared as available seemed to be rather low. They demonstrated creating chaos, commotion, and confusion.
Subsequently, the counselling was postponed. The officials announced that the revised date for the counselling will be announced later after discussions with the government and the owners of the private dental colleges.
