Tamil Nadu state government employees strike postponed

The strike undertaken by the Tamil Nadu State government has been temporarily withdrawn and stands postponed.

The 6 demands pressed by the state government employees include withdrawal of the new pension scheme, filling up the vacancies in various government departments, pay structure equivalent to the central government, consolidated pay, time-based payments for the employees in honorarium, etc. As per the announcement by Tamil Nadu government employees union and Tamil Nadu all department employees union, the employees have gone on an indefinite strike from 25th April. Now, this strike is temporarily withdrawn and postponed.

In this regard, The President of the Tamil Nadu State Government Employees Association, Mr. Subramanian explained that the state revenue minister Udhayakumar has promised to accept and implement the 6 major demands put up by the association. So, the strike is temporarily withdrawn and stands postponed.

If this promise is not kept before July by the state government, the association may go on strike again.
