Facebook Messenger to withdraw support on old versions

There are 1 billion users for Facebook Messenger. Apart from serving as a content platform for messaging and connecting with family members and friends, there are many other features like voice calling, video calling, etc on the Messenger app. Now, Facebook has decided to remove its support for older versions of the app.
At times, the facilities will not work properly or the app might not get supported at all. On the Facebook blog, it is stated that people with older versions of the app need to update if they want to continue experiencing all the Messenger features.
Facebook is ceasing support for older mobile app versions of Messenger and Facebook. By March end, support for Android v5.5, Messenger v10, iPad v26, Messenger v8, iOS, Windows Phone 8 and 8.1 are withdrawn.
