Jio grabs over 50 million paid users

Reliance Jio has closed in on over 50 million paid users on the day before free voice and free data offers ended.
There are over 100 million free subscribers to Jio. Over 50 million have so far opted for Prime membership by paying one-time fees of Rs 99.
One of the company officials said Jio achieved about 50 percent of its target it had fixed for Jio Prime Membership. The Happy New Year offer had got over on 31st March. The Prime membership is available with one-time payment of Rs 99.
The data packs for these members are available for price Rs 149 per month. And voice calls will be provided for free. The daily addition is multiplying in leaps and bounds and the precise amount of subscribers will be announced after 31st March.
Industry estimates state that out of the total 100-105 million subscribers that Jio already has, nearly 30 percent of them have got secondary connections by individuals for obtaining free data.
About two-third of the total 70 million unique subscribers will be converted to Prime loyalty programme.
