R.K Nagar Constituency assembly by-election: Filing nomination commences today (16th March)

The filing of nomination to contest the by-election for the Tamil Nadu State Legislative Assembly Constituency R.K Nagar, following the death of the former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa starts today (Thursday, 16th March).
The last date for filing the nomination to contest the election is 23rd March.
The nominations will be reviewed on 24th March.
The candidates intending to withdraw the nomination must do so before 3 PM on 27th March by taking the nomination back.
The final contestant list will be released on 27th evening.
The contestants
The election will be contested on 12th April. Counting of votes will be done on 15th April.
In this election, T. T. V. Dinakaran contests on behalf of AIADMK. Deepa Jayakumar, the niece of the former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, is also contesting the election. Further, the nominee from O. Panneerselvam faction is also set to contest the election. P. Madhivanan is the contestant nominated by DMDK party.
