Chennai Corporation to collect statistics about roadside sellers

In a press release from Karthikeyan, the Chennai Corporation Commissioner, considering the welfare of roadside sellers, several measures are to be taken. Here are some of those are collecting statistics about the total number of shops along roadsides, certifying shops that function catering to the rules and regulations by the corporation, categorizing based on type of stores, issuing identity certificates, drafting rules for cleaning the environment and allied activities, etc.
Following this, as the first phase of the work, in 15 zones falling within Chennai city corporation, works to collect statistics about roadside sellers will be carried out with the help of exclusive software designed for the same. starting from 8th of this month, tomorrow, corporation officials and contract workers handpicked for the job will carry out the work.
