Reliance Jios entry in the mobile service market in recent times was a stormy and sensational business story. Barely after the store is losing intensity, it seems that Jio is all set now to make its entry in another altogether unexpected entry - app-based taxi services.
So far, the taxi service industry has been dominated by 2 major companies - Uber and Ola. Through a reliable and inside source of Jio, it is gathered that Jio has already placed for 600 Mahindras or Hyundais.

Despite this news gathering strength and spreading, Reliance has stated that it has no plans to start an app-based taxi service.
However, the reliable sources confidently state that Jio Cabs will make a rather early entry in the App-based taxi service in fact, as early as April 2017.It observes that Jio has already made progress in making the App. Still, it may take another 6 months depending how the commercial prospects turn out. Jio is planning to use Jio Money as the medium of payment.
The source also remarked that Jio has roped in E&Y as the consultant to develop the pricing strategies.
To go back a bit, it is well-known now that the post entry of Reliance Jio, a war has literally broken out among the giants in the field of telecom industry with more and more attractive free and low-price packages for the services offered. The competitors like Vodafone and Airtel are making all out plans to consolidate their business by collaborations and buyings.
