CMRL beings track works in North Chennai

Chennai Metro Rail Limited has started laying tracks between Washermanpet Metro Rail station to AG-DMS Metro Rail station, a distance of about 13 km. Laying of track upto Chennai Central will take 6 months and another 6 months from Chennai Central to AG-DMS Metro Rail station.
An official said: The work on signaling and electrification will also start. The priority will be to complete the work from Washermanpet to Chennai Central., Kalindee Rail Nirman Engineers Limited will carry out the laying of tracks for the stretch between Washermanpet and AG-DMS.
