Sugar cane prices becomes lesser and lesser

Coming 14th Pongal festival will be celebrated with much pomp and glory. In view of the festival, the frequency of sugarcanes to Koyambedu market has increased. In a single day, Yesterday sugarcane came to Koyambedu in 70 lorries from various villages including Sethiathoppu and Vadapakkam. 1 bundle of sugar canes is being sold for Rs 200. In the retail market 1 sugarcane is being sold for Rs 10. Last year it was sold for Rs 15 per piece.
People are very happy because the sugar cane prices have come down. Banana bunches are sold between Rs 250 and Rs 400, apples are sold between Rs 100 and Rs 140 and sweet lime is sold between Rs 60 and Rs 70.
