Lights rains in Chennai, more in offing

As reiterated by Skymet Weather, light rains have commenced over Chennai once again. Rain bearing clouds have been engulfing the city since early afternoon.
Remnants of Cyclone Nada are still lingering over the region. Moreover, high levels of humidity and increase in day temperatures had triggered the formation of the convective clouds over the state capital.
Weathermen predict light rain and drizzle to continue across the city, particularly southern areas may see some good showers during the next 2-3 hours. Moderate to strong winds gusting up to 40 kmph are also blowing across Chennai.
Cyclone Nada which is now seen as a well-marked low pressure area is prevailing over Interior Tamil Nadu and adjoining areas. The system will continue to move further westwards and will weaken further.
