The centre has made a new move to prevent black money turning white by making an indelible ink mark on fingers of those who approach banks for exchanging old money for new. This, they believe, will prevent repeated conversions.

Addressing a press conference, the Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs, Shaktikanta Das stated that all those who get their old notes exchanged for new ones will be marked with indelible ink mark.

This however will not be applicable for withdrawals made. This move is intended to resist repeated transactions made by the same person. Further, the government presumes that the reason for poor betterment observed is the chaotic situation of such repetitive transactions by people.

The secretary also claimed that innocent people are being used by black money holders. They make use of them for getting their black money exchanged for new ones by making repeated transactions at different banks. The long queues awaiting outside the banks have sabotaged the lives of people in the country.

Untangling the crisis for cash, the government has been devising plans to introduce the indelible ink mark and now they have finally come up with the plan to implement the idea from today.
