29 special counters for bus tickets on occasion of Deepavali

On the occasion of Deepavali festival, 29 special counters for advance booking of bus tickets were opened. On the first day 3000 passengers have booked their tickets. 
 
On 26th 3254 buses will be operated from Chennai. Similarly on 27th 3992 buses and on 28th 3977 buses will be operated. On the whole 11225 special buses will be operated.
 
On 26th, 2507 buses will be operated from various places and 27th 3488 buses are to be operated from various destinations. On 28th 4069 buses will be operated from various destinations.
 
26 special counters at CMBT, 2 special counters at Tambaram and 1 special counter at Poonamallee were opened yesterday.
 
An official from the transport department while speaking about special counters and special buses said: Additional buses are being operated for Deepavali festival for the convenience of the people. 29 special advance booking counters have been opened for the passengers travelling in long distance buses (300 kms). Advance booking can be done between 7 am to 9 pm. 

Apart from the counter, the tickets can also be booked online through the website www.tnstc.in The change in the boarding point for the passengers who have booked their tickets 60 days in advance will be notified through SMSs. State express buses for the passengers who have reserved will depart from platforms 3,4,5 and 6 at Koyambedu terminus. Buses for unreserved passengers will be operated from platforms 7, 8 and 9. Short distance buses will be operated from platforms 1 and 2.
