Carrying crackers during train travel is strictly punishable, RPF

The Government Railway Police had alerted the train passengers not to carry any inflammable object like cracker during their train travel, especially in a time when Diwali is fast approaching.
 
The passenger traffic is likely to double up as Diwali festival is nearing. Government Railway Police together with Railway Protection Force have made necessary arrangements to ensure maximum security to all train passengers. There are special women police teams and police officials working in mufti. 
 
The law strictly prohibits carrying crackers or other inflammable objects in the train. If any passenger is found guilty of the same, the materials will be seized and the offence is punishable, according to law. Those who offend might have to undergo imprisonment for over six months and bear with fine amount of Rs 1000, as per section 285. 
 
According to section 164 of Railways Act 1989, any passenger carrying dangerous goods or one who entrusts such goods shall be punishable and bound to get imprisoned for a period up to three years. He or she may have to bear with fine of Rs 1000, or both shall be applicable too. The passenger will also be liable for cases of loss or injury or damage that happens as a result of bringing such goods.
