Tamil Nadu government will undertake the Aadhar Card registration from 1st October

The Census Department has announced that from tomorrow ( 1st October) the Tamil Nadu government will undertake the Aadhar Card registration.
As of now, the registration is being done by the census department but due to poor footfalls in the 640 special centres, The census department has shifted them under the care of the state government and from tomorrow this work will be part of e-seva centres.
The state government`s IT department will take care of the biometric registration and will be sending the data to UIDAI for releasing Aadhaar cards. The Census department will focus on just the Census functions henceforth.
