Heavy rain pounds Chennai and its suburbs

Last night there were rains in Chennai and its suburbs. The Meteorological Centre had forecasted that there will be rains for 2 days in North Tamil Nadu due to overlay atmospheric circulation. At this juncture, right from yesterday morning the sky was cloudy. Though there was mild sunlight, it did not affect people. 

At this juncture last night there was heavy rains from 10 pm in Chennai and its suburbs Tambaram, Chromepet, Porur, Poonamallee and Ambattur. At about 10.30 pm rain pounded in Triplicane, Royapettah,  T Nagar, Saidapet, Nungambakkam, Meenambakkam, Tiruvottiyur and Royapuram. 

In between the Regional Meteorological Centre has mentioned that there will be rains in Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Thanjavur, Pudukkottai, Vellore, Krishnagiri, Tiruvannamalai, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Nilgiris, Tiruppur, Kovai, Erode, Karur, Trichy, Ariyalur and Perambalur districts due to convection. There will also be rains in some parts of Puducherry. There will also be rains in one or two places of southern districts. 

As far as Chennai is concerned the sky will be cloudy. There will be mild showers in the city. The maximum and minimum temperatures in the city will be 32 degrees and 26 degrees Celsius.
