Wettest September in 20 years for City

The All time 200 year record for September Monthly rains in Chennai is 314.50 mm received during 1996 (well i still remember the September 1996 rains eventhough i was kid then, it was legendary on September 12, 1996 with one day getting 167 mm). Then in 2011, the City got 286 mm rainfall. Now the city has got 296 mm till today in September making it as one of the wettest in last 20 years. Can we break the all time record, we have only tonight to do so.

Today?

Again perfect conditions exists for rains for tonight. So i will be back again tonight if storms form in the west. These storms choose their own track and formation location is key. Lets hope we fall in the path of the storms.

Chembarabakkam Lake is getting 500 cusecs inflow a much needed inflow with dwindling lake levels.
