All International Airports in Indian Cities which sell items at lower prices and duty-free. It is traditional for the people who arrive or depart to buy these items.

However, an upper limit of a maximum purchase of items worth up to Rs. 5,000 had  been prevailing until now. The passengers were rather disappointed with this somewhat low limit and had requested that it must be increased.

This request has now been accepted and the Central Customs And Kalal Department has increased the upper limit from Rs. 5000/- by 5 times to Rs. 25000/-.. It has also issued certain new orders and regulations to the duty-free shops in the airports.

As per the new regulations, the price of the product should be clearly labeled in Indian Rupees. The shops must also release details of foreign money exchanged during this purchases every 15 days.
