Surface winds likely to be strong in Chennai and its suburbs

Since the winds in the west have developed there will strong surface winds in Chennai and its suburbs.
There will be rains in Kovai Western Ghats and Nilgiris districts. There are rains in Tamil Nadu in many places because of convection and south west monsoon. Surface winds likely to be strong and gusty at times. Gale winds speed reaching 44 kmph gusting to 55 kmph would prevail along the coast of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Hence fishermen are warned not to venture in to sea.
