It`s always fun when it is the monsoon season. Getting drenched and enjoying the rainfall is incomparable and delightful experience. Though it is fun to enjoy the rain, it also has a sinister side that may give rise to plenty of problems. There are several diseases that are caused by stagnant water. An expert in internal medicine and diabetologist insists people not to ignore persistent fever or any sort of fungal infection.
 
Diseases such as amoebiasis, diarrhea, cholera, dengue, fungal infection, etc may arise due to water contamination. Furthermore, an infectious bacterial disease called leptospirosis gives rise to symptoms like fever, headache, chills, etc. This has to be keenly observed, says expert.
 
Precautionary measures to stay safe during this season:
 
·         Eat hygienic food

·         Drink boiled water

·         Take necessary vaccination for swine flu

·         Prevent yourself from pneumonia

·         People residing at areas marooned by water need to get cholera and typhoid vaccination done
 

Children, elders and pregnant women need to be given with H1N1 vaccination. The doctor also encourages the use of conventional method of using neem oil and turmeric both of which carry antifungal properties and anti-bacterial properties.
