The price of the hugely popular divine offering Tirupathi Laddu goes up

TTDC (Tirumalai Tirupathi Devsathanam Coprporation) Endowment Head Mr. Sathalavada Krishnamurthy has recommended to increase the price of the popular divine offering, Tirupathi Laddu.
By selling the laddus at lower rates, TTDC incurs a loss of Rs. 150 Crores per year.
So, Mr. S. Krishnamurthy has suggested increasing the price of laddus.
He has recommended that each devotee after Darshan can be given free laddu of 100 grams and to increase the price of laddus now sold at Rs. 25/- to the extent to offset the losses as per the production expenses.
Another proposal has been made to raise the fees Arjitha Darshan Tickets for some special Darshan like Thomalai Archanai, and Suprabtaha Sevai which provide 30 minutes for the devotee to have a close Darshan of the Lord very near his Sanctum Sanctorum.
It has been pointed out the fess for the above Darshan is less than VIP Break Darshan. On this note, it has been recommended two raise the fees for the above Darshans.
A special committee has been formed to thoroughly explore this proposal. A decision is likely to be taken in Today`s TTDC Board meeting.
It is expected that the committee will approve the price increase of all Arjitha Sevai tickets but it is gathered that there are differences in opinion about the increase of Laddu price.
