Ola Provides Boats, Free Food and Drinking Water to Flood Victims

Ola, the leading player in taxi services has rolled out boats with professional rowers to rescue people from the waterlogged places to safer areas.
In its statement, Ola has stated that it has deployed such boats to waterlogged areas and places that are partially submerged. The areas are selected on the basis of information sourced from the fire and rescue department.
To handle these boats, they have also deployed professional and well experienced rowers and fishermen who can help in rescuing operations. They also provide free food and drinking water. Each of the boat is equipped with two rowers, enough number of umbrellas and this can ferry between 5 to 9 people in a single trip.
Ravi Teja, the business head of Ola in Chennai has stated that this move is made in order to meet the increasing need for transportation in the city. We are working together with stakeholders to help people escape from waterlogged areas, he pointed.
This boat service will be made available for three more days and will be extended if required.
