Northern Parts of TN Likely to Receive Heavy Showers in Next 24 Hours

As the northeast monsoon has intensified and prevailing low pressure in Bay, Tamil Nadu is likely to receive severe rain showers in the next 24 hours.
In the past 24 hours, maximum rainfall of 37 cm was recorded at Ponneri, 33 cm rainfall in Tambaram and Mahalingapuram, and 30 cm at Chengalpet, say sources from the meteorological department.
As the low pressure in southern parts of Bay of Bengal has migrated to the north, the northern districts of Tamil Nadu and few places in the south are likely to see heavy downpour in the following 24 hours.
As the low pressure in the Bay of Bengal is moving towards the north, rain showers will get eventually reduced.
