Insert your SIM card to check the network quality. Surf the internet, download a few apps and take a few photos and videos. All this makes sure the phone is not defective.
Pay through a secure channel to ensure that you get a refund in case you need to return the phone. Also, try buying the phone on Facebook. This lets to check the seller`s profile and their activities on the group in which things are sold. This will also give you a chance to check other offers before settling on one.
Finally, see if the phone still has its warranty. This will give you enough leeway in case of a problem.
