Changing cell service provider without changing the cell number: facility from 3rd July!

Officials of the department of telecommunications in Delhi informed that the facility to change the cell service provider without changing he cell number will be facilitated from day-after-tomorrow – Friday, 3rd July.
This facility is available currently to a limited extent within a given communication circle.
Now, the facility is extended while shifting from state to state.
With the new facility, even a person shifts from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, he/she can continue using the same cell number while changing the cell phone service provider.
He government had planned to implement this from 1st May itself. However, cell companies had asked for more time. Hence, 2 months’ additional time war given.
