Short supply of stamps and post cards in post offices

The shortages of stamps, post cards and forms for savings scheme in the post offices have aggravated the general public. Many investors are put in to great hardship because of the shortage of National Savings Certificate application forms. In some post offices the photo copy of the forms are being issued. In post offices like Anna Nagar, there is a shortage of postcards. Postal customers are using lower denomination stamps due to a dearth of Rs. 4 and Rs. 5 stamps.
When asked an official about this dearth, he said, “We are simplifying the format to two-page application forms online as well. Until then, we have directed CBS-networked post offices to print and supply from local sources or issue photocopies.”
