TN to receive showers due to rotation overlay

Due to rotation of overlay in Kanyakumari, southern districts of Tamil Nadu are likely to receive rainfall on Sunday, and heavy showers are expected in few areas too, say meteorological department. Speaking about this, the Regional director of meteorological department S.R. Ramanan said areas in Tamil Nadu has been receiving rainfall due to convection.
Now, as there is overlay rotation in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu is likely to receive rainfall in the next 24 hours. Further, places in southern region of the state may also receive heavy showers. Chennai will be partly cloudy and few places in the city will receive showers.
Details of rainfall as of 8.30 am yesterday are as follows:
· Sothuparai – 12 cm
· Mahalingapuram, and Thanjavur – 10 cm
· Kaattumannar Kovil and Thiruvoor districts – 9 cm
· Heavy showers in Viluppuram, Trichi, Selam, etc
