Separate ration card can be issued to a person living within the same house

Tamil Nadu food minister R Kamaraj while speaking in the state assembly said, “ 11 Lakhs new ration card have been issued in Tamil Nadu. 3.58 Lakhs bogus ration cards have been weeded out. There are 1.97 Crores ration cards in Tamil Nadu. Those of who are eligible can submit the applications for new cards with supporting documents. The ration cards will be issued in 60 days. A person living within the same house can get a separate consumer card only if he establishes that he has a separate kitchen.”
