Food Minister promises new ration cards in just 60 days

Food Minister Kamaraj said any ration card application submitted to the government will be checked and the card will reach the hands of applicant in just 60 days. A consultative meeting that will see participation from District Supply and Consumer Protection Authorities was held in Chennai yesterday.
Following the meet, when the minister of food met with the press, he said about 11,06,453 ration cards are supplied so far. Furthermore, 3,56,738 bogus cards are identified and cancelled by the government. Those who submit proper documents along with their application for new ration card will receive the card in just sixty days of application. Officials are instructed to take necessary steps to fasten the process. Any concerns with ration card will also be addressed soon, he added.
