Harrington Road, Chennai resumes 2-way operation!

Harrington Road, Chennai has been transformed into a 2-way road as per the Prototype Road Plan.
The construction of Harrington Road in Chetput, under the Teynampet Region, has been taken up at a cost of Rs. 9.63 Crores. Because of this construction activity, the road was rendered as 1-way.
The laying of cement-concrete road, granite pavements, rainwater drainage facility, the median at the middle of the road, electric cabling, vehicle parking, and installation of decorative lamps have been in progress from June, 2014.
The part of laying 5.7 metre width up to a distance of 750 metres has been completed. Following this, the Road has been rendered as 2-way allowing vehicle on either side.
The balance work on walkway, fixing of LED lamps, etc are expected to be completed in the next 3 months.
