Microsoft bids adieu to Windows 7

Windows 7 has now arrived at a milepost which is literally the last one it makes. Microsoft officially discontinued selling personal computers with Windows 7 operating system on Friday. No Widows 7 home basics, Windows 7 home premium or Windows 7 ultimate will be sold by Microsoft henceforth. The operating system will however be available for sale for OEMs.
Computers will not be given license to install Windows 7 OS which will consequently result in a mandatory installation of the latest version of Windows. The giant will anyway continue providing support for its Windows 7. The mainstream support for this OS with service pack 1 will be made available till January 13, 2015, and the extended support will be available till January 14, 2020.
