IRCTC announces six special tourist trains

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) has announced six special tourist trains for the festival season from October to December.
The trains will be part of a tour package of up to two weeks linking various pilgrimage locations like Varanasi, Rameswaram and Shirdi. Passengers will be escorted by tour guides and a medical team, while the trains will have specially designed coaches with various facilities including a pantry car providing vegetarian food and public address system to vconvey information during the journey.
Tickets can be booked online and at specific booking counters across Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai and Katpadi. Three kinds of services viz. Standard, Comfort and Deluxe, which involve sleeper class, 3 tier AC and 2 tier AC travel and other corresponding services, are provided at charges of Rs 910, Rs 1,970 and Rs 2,650 per person per day respectively.
